Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has composed music for the films of leading actors like Vijay, Ajith, Suriya, and Simbu in Kollywood, is now reported to be teaming up with Rajinikanth for the first time.

Actor Rajinikanth is currently gearing up for the release of Jailer. Directed by Nelson, the film has a huge star cast including Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Shiva Rajkumar along with Rajinikanth. Anirudh is composing the music for the film, which is being produced by Sun Pictures.

After this, Rajinikanth committed to act in two films produced by Lyca. One of them is Lal Salam. Directed by his daughter Aishwarya, the film features Rajini in a guest role. The shooting of the film is going to start in February. Similarly, another film in which Rajini will star in the production of Lyca was supposedly directed by Cibi Chakraborty, director of Don.

But it is revealed that Rajini was not satisfied with the script of Ciby. Reportedly the opportunity has now been passed on to Pradeep Ranganathan, the director of Love Today. It is almost certain that he will direct Rajinikanth's 171st film. Pradeep has now gone to London to tell the story of the film to producer Subhashkaran. Rumors also suggest that Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing the music for this film. If confirmed, it will be Yuvan Shankar Raja's first music for a Rajinikanth film.
