Indian economist appointed in World Bank key position!

Indian economist Abhas Jha has been appointed by the World Bank in a key position concerned with the climate change and disaster management in South Asia. At a time when Cyclone Amphan has affected West Bengal, Odisha and Bangladesh, Jha gets appointed.
Abhas Jha as World Bank's Practice Manager for Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management for South Asia will have the responsibility to help South Asia region Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change team to work in collaboration with global teams, besides also facilitating the delivery of development solutions from the World Bank to clients.
Abhas Jha will be working from Singapore, in association with Practice Managers, Global Leads and Solutions Groups to nurture and develop climate change issues solutions. Abhas Jha had joined the World Bank in 2001 and has worked in Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Pacific regions.
