‘War 2’ Opens Strong in Nizam, Edges Past Coolie on Day 1

The long-awaited Bollywood spy action thriller War 2 stormed into cinemas yesterday, setting off a wave of excitement among moviegoers. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in a high-voltage face-off, the Ayan Mukerji directorial has been one of the most talked-about releases of the year. While early audience reactions are mixed — praising the action spectacle but debating the story — the film’s box office debut tells a different story.

At the box office, however, War 2 started off on a high note in the Nizam region, registering an impressive opening. The film collected Rs.4.25 crore share (excluding GST) on its first day in the territory, narrowly surpassing the Day 1 collections of Rajinikanth’s Coolie (Rs.4.15 crore share). This performance highlights the strong fan following and star pull of Jr NTR, who headlines the project alongside Hrithik Roshan.

The competition between the two biggies is far from over, and all eyes are now on the Day 2 numbers to see which film sustains better momentum in the region.

War 2 also features Kiara Advani, Bobby Deol (cameo), and Ashutosh Rana in key roles. Produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, the film’s music is composed by Pritam, Sanchit Balhara, and Ankit Balhara.
