Even after so much of efforts by the Film Producers Council and other institutions within Kollywood the issue of piracy continuous unabated. Many Tamil films are it the one starring Superstar or a newcomer is getting copied and released on pirated versions on the day of their theatrical release itself.
Superstar Rajinikanth's latest Super hit which released on January 10, 2019, as a Pongal attraction is no exception. The film's pirated version is being screened on omnibuses as well as some Government ferrying passengers in the night time. A vigilant commuter has released the video footage of 'Petta' being screened in Tamil Nadu Government SETC bus traveling to Chennai from Karur. He has released the same in Twitter.
Actor and Producers Council President Vishal has shared the video footage and has requested the Tamil Nadu Government to take stringent action against piracy as the video can be taken as confirmed evidence that pirated versions of new films are being screened in Government buses.
We hope at least now TN Govt wakes up to this serious issue and takes some effective measures to end this long-standing menace that has been affecting the state's biggest entertainment industry for many years now.
Truly hope the Govt takes some action on Piracy. Here is confirmed source with evidence that Pirated Movies are played in Govt Buses.@CMOTamilNadu @OfficeOfOPS @OfficeofminMRV @Kadamburrajuofl https://t.co/0orfstYjPP
