Would you believe that 11 years ago Captains Kane Williamson and Virat Kohli led their respective sides in the U19 World Cup in 2008? Well, history has repeated itself truly. And that is good for the Men in Blue because they went on to win the same semifinals match last time. Hopefully, the result will be favourable this time as well. Virat Kohli said: “A lot of players from that World Cup from our batch, from their batch, from other teams as well, made it to their national teams & are still playing. I think it is a really nice memory. Neither me nor him could have ever anticipated that one day this will happen.”
He added: “When we meet tomorrow I’ll remind him. It’s nice to realise that 11 yrs after, we’re captaining our respective nations again in a senior World Cup.” Surprisingly in 2008, Kohli got Williamson’s wicket, something he thinks will never happen again. Who knows? The captain seems capable of just about anything.
