Recently, there was a controversy when DMK MP Kanimozhi stated that she was asked to speak Hindi in the airport, following which BJP member H Raja had been claiming that Kanimozhi knew Hindi. Further, a photo of Kanimozhi and Kalaignar Karunanidhi also was turning viral.

It was claimed that it was a photo taken when Kanimozhi was translating a Hindi speech to Tamil for Karunanidhi. However the original photo has been released now, and is turning viral. The photo of Kanimozhi with Karunanidhi was actually taken at veteran Actor Sivakumar's house.

It was in 1989 that Kalaignar Karunanidhi and his daughter Kanimozhi visited Sivakumar's house, as Kanimozhi was interested in painting and Sivakumar was an amazing painter. The father and daughter duo went to Sivakumar's house and saw his paintings for a while and were amazed, and the particular photo was taken during this visit and was not an instance of Kanimozhi translating Hindi. In the now trending photos, Sivakumar's whole family is present and a young Suriya and Karthi are also seen in them.
