Viral: Man ties his dad’s body to car’s roof to reach to graveyard

A lot of poignant incidents this pandemic have shaken the conscience of our society. The images of critically-ill patients not finding beds, reports of coronavirus-stricken patients being turned down by hospitals for want of ICU/oxygen beds, and suchlike have been disturbing. 

In a shocking piece of news, a man from Uttar Pradesh’s Agra was found carrying the dead body of his father to the graveyard by tying it to the roof of his car. He is learned to have resorted to the step because he couldn’t find an ambulance or hearse. 

An image of the same is doing the rounds on the Internet. It has gone viral. 

Reports say that there is a dearth of vehicles to carry dead bodies in several cities and towns. “Agra has been reporting more than 600 cases daily. In the last nine days, 35 people have died due to Covid-19,” India Today has quoted sources as saying.
