What all happened in Iru Mugan Audio Launch

Actor Vikram’s first dual role flick ‘Iru Mugan’ had a star-studded audio and trailer launch at Chennai Satyam Cinemas this morning. The event was well planned without any delay and deviation.

Other than the important cast and crew members of the film including the lead actor Vikram, leading heroes Sivakarthikeyan, Nivin Pauly, ‘Baahubali’ story writer Vijayendra Prasad, Producer Council Treasurer T.Siva are the other prominent celebrity who graced the function to shower their affection towards Vikram and his new film like hundreds of fans who were continuously cheering for the National award winning actor throughout the event.

Releasing the trailer during the audio launch has become common in Kollywood today. Generally in audio launch function, the trailer will be released only as the final event or during the middle. But the ‘Iru Mugan’ team did not want to make the fans wait for long. The first event of the day was the trailer launch which was received with thunderous applause, whistles and cheers from the audience. It was screened four times amid the function much to the delight of the fans.

Actor Thambi Ramiah who has played the role of Malaysian cop in this film predominantly shot in Malaysia was the first celebrity to address the gathering. Vikram who had pulled the crowd for the even spoke the last.

The event had a very big surprise announcement. Director Hari who had worked with Vikram in ‘Saamy’ and ‘Arul’ and is presently working with Suriya for ‘S3’ was one of the guests. He came to the dais and conveyed his wishes for the film and was about to leave when the host asked about the possibility of his teaming up with Vikram again for a film.

Tha paved for an unplanned announcement from Hari that his next film after ‘S3’ will be with Vikram and Shibu Thameens the producer of Hari will be funding this film. He also revealed it is the sequel to the 2003 blockbuster ‘Saamy’ and the film will have the musical score of Harris Jayaraj and Priyan will handle the cinematography.

Then he requested Vikram, Harris and Shibu to come up on the dais and thus ‘Saamy 2’ has been officially announced/launched in the audio release of ‘Iru Mugan’ team.!!!

Art director Suresh Selvaraj, Editor Bhuvan Srinivasan, Stunt choreographers Anbariv, Lyricists Madhan Karky and Thamarai, Cinematographer R.D.Rajasekar, actress Riythvika, music director Harris Jayaraj, producer Shibu Thameens, director Vikram Shankar are the cast and crew members who spoke on behalf of the film.

Here are some interesting facts revealed during these speeches:

• Thambi Ramiah said he has worked in the script of a few Vikram films.
• This is the first film of art director Suresh Selvaraj. He had worked as set assistant in Vikram’s 2004 film ‘Arul’.
• Editor Bhuvan revealed that the trailer was not the extension of the teaser but it is a continuation.
• The teaser was cut when just 40% of the film was completed to release in on Vikram’s birthday on April 17.
• ‘Kabali’ girl Riythvika worked only for a few days but her character will have good screen time with Vikram.
• RD Rajasekar revealed that Vikram used to be in the shooting spot at 5 am for makeup.
• Director Anand Shankar is the grandson of veteran theater personality and writer Komal Swaminathan.
• Producer Shibu Thameens has distributed many Vikram starrer in Kerala since ‘Saamy’.
• Siva Karthikeyan said Vikram is his Guruji in acting and he is just an apprentice. He also recalled how Vikram used to tell him that he will become a hero since his days as an anchor.
• Nivin Pauly said this is the first Tamil film audio function he is participating and he is proud for that.
• Harris Jayaraj recalled how Vikram’s performance and Balaji Sakthivel’s making took a simple melody ‘Moongil Kadugale’ to huge levels. That was his first film with Vikram.
• Director Anand Shankar said Vikram waited for 8-10 months for the film by growing beard. He has been a source of inspiration and confidence about this film.
• The shooting has been completed in 85 days by working day and night.

The event ended with the formal launch of the music album by Harris Jayaraj. It was a fantastic event, the only disappointment was the absence of Nayanthara and Nithya Menen, the two hot heroines of the film.
