Following Naga Babu’s tweets praising Nathuram Godse as a true patriot, yesteryear actress Vijayashanthi took to Twitter to take an oblique swipe at him. The ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ artist highlighted the central tenet of Mahatma Gandhi and commented that had Godse been alive today, he would have wished what the Father of the Nation stood for.
“Regardless of our caste and religion, God is one. No matter how many generations pass, our ‘jathi pitha’ is one (Gandhi). 130 crore Indians see him as the Mahatma. Eeswar, Allah tero naam.. Sabko sanmathi the bhagawan. Had Godse been alive, he would have prayed for the same,” the Congress politician commented on Twitter.
Earlier on Tuesday, V Hanumantha Rao warned Naga Babu of severe consequences if he doesn’t give up provocative talk.
On his part, the Mega brother said on Twitter, later in the day, that he respects Gandhi more than others.
