Actor Manikandan, who made his debut in the youthful film 'Boys' directed by Shankar, has not had much to cheer for career wise for almost two decades. He is currently making a strong comeback in a special role in Vijay Sethupathi's 50th film 'Maharaja'.
Manikandan who was out of the limelight for many years came back to public memory after he was interviewed by our Indiaglitz on YouTube. The video published two years back has garnered a staggering 1.6 million views. Vijay Sethupathi in one of our other interviews was pointed out that Manikandan named him an inspiration in our interview. The top hero stated that he too saw the video and loved it and will surely work with Manikandan when an opportunity came by.
The Makkal Selvan true to his words has cast Manikandan in 'Maharaja' in a very important role. He called the actor on stageduring the first look launch event on Sunday and said that in the IG interview he expected Manikandan to be depressed but he was so cheerful and positive that he is now like a modern philosopher. 'Maharaja' directed by Nithilan Swaminathan of 'Kurangu Bommai' fame has music by Ajaneesh and is edited by Philomin Raj, Vijay Sethupathi, Natty Natraj, Abhirami, Mamta Mohandas, Aruldoss, Singam Puli and Anurag Kashyap star in the the political thriller. Passion Studios and The Route are jointly producing and the film is expected to release on a festive date in the next few months.
