Maamanithan is the long-delayed film of Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi in National award-winning Seenu Ramasamy's direction. It has been under production for a long time. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music, and he is also producing the film under his banner YSR Productions.
Now, the latest update is that the director took to Twitter to share that Maamanithan is gearing up for a release. Seenu Ramasamy & editor Sreekar Prasad have completed the editing work and the film's post-production is entirely over. The maker added that the movie was shot in 37 days.
VJS starrer is all set to go for censors next week. 'Maamanithan' release date is expected to be made once the film passes censors. Online buzz is that the movie might skip theatres to have an OTT premier but official news regarding the release is awaited.
Makkal Selvan will be seen as a hardworking auto driver in Maamanithan while Gayathrie Shankar plays the female lead opposite Vijay Sethupathi. In the meantime, Seenu Ramasamy has completed the shoot of his next project 'Idi Muzhakkam' with GV Prakash and Gayathrie.
