Vijay Antony’s Emotional Family Drama ‘Vanda Devullu’ Set for Telugu ZEE5 Premiere on August 7

After winning hearts in theatres as one of the year’s most-loved family entertainers, Vijay Antony’s emotional drama Vanda Devullu is now gearing up for its digital premiere. The film will begin streaming on Telugu ZEE5 from August 7, giving audiences another opportunity to experience its heartwarming story from the comfort of their homes.

Written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sasi, Vanda Devullu marks his much-awaited reunion with Vijay Antony nearly a decade after the blockbuster Bichagadu. Inspired by true events, the film presents an emotionally rich narrative that celebrates family values, unconditional love, and the courage to embrace new beginnings.

At the heart of the story is a widowed mother who has devoted her life to raising her family. When she decides to begin a new chapter in her life, she is forced to confront deep-rooted social prejudices and difficult personal choices. Through its touching narrative, the film explores themes of motherhood, dignity, acceptance, and the strength to choose happiness despite societal expectations.

Unlike conventional family dramas that focus solely on sacrifice, Vanda Devullu offers a refreshing and heartfelt portrayal of the mother-son relationship. Director Sasi brings his signature emotional storytelling to a subject that is both socially relevant and universally relatable, making the film a memorable experience for audiences of all ages.

The film features an ensemble cast including Vijay Antony, Swasika, Ajay Dhishan, Lijomol Jose, Karunas, Kavya Anil, Balaji Sakthivel, and Aruldoss in pivotal roles. Produced under the Vijay Antony Film Corporation banner, the film boasts music by Balaji Sriram, cinematography by S.P. Darshan Girlosh, and editing by Harish Yuvaraj.

Speaking about the film’s digital release, director Sasi said, “Vandha Devullu is a story born out of real emotions and real lives. I wanted to tell a story about love, acceptance, and the freedom to choose happiness beyond society’s expectations. I’m grateful for the love the film received in theatres, and I’m delighted that it will now reach many more families through Telugu ZEE5.”

Vijay Antony added, “Every film has a purpose, and Vandha Devullu is special because of the emotions it carries. The relationship between the mother and her son is the heart of this story, and I believe audiences will connect deeply with its message. I’m happy that Telugu audiences can now experience this emotional journey with their families on Telugu ZEE5.”

With its emotionally engaging story, relatable characters, and powerful performances, Vanda Devullu promises to strike a chord with family audiences once again when it premieres on Telugu ZEE5 on August 7.
