The much awaited trailer of Vetrimaaran's 'Viduthalai 1' has just been dropped and promises to authentically capture the never ending war between a revolutionary and the system. The visuals show Soori as a lowest ranking policeman who wants to get into the action in the hunt for an elusive separatist Perumal played by Vijay Sethupathi.
The visuals show the battalion of cops gathered at the foothills of a forest gearing up for the hunt under the tutelige of a ruthless government officer Rajiv Menon and his commander in chief played by Gautham Vasudev Menon. Soori the protagonist is obviously the invisible lowly orderly who may be the only one who has ever seen Perumal. Going by the short story 'Thunaivan' on which the movie is based Soori's character will be the one to finally get the Vaathiyaar.
The 'Viduthalai 1' trailer shows us very little of Vijay Sethupathi but the few glimpses we get is enough to establish his authority as the fearless revolutionary who will fight to the death against the establishment for the people. The Perumal character in the end of the clip asks GVM's cop who the real separatist is which is apparently the core theme of this part.
The Vetrimaaran touch is evident throughout the two minutes forty two seconds clip with hard hitting dialogues, close to reality but authentic action and above all taking a bold and firm stand on what he wants to convey through the film. Isaigniani Ilayaraja's masterful background music punctuates the shots while Velraj's cinematography transports the viewer into the rough and tough terrain of the story.
To sum up the 'Viduthalai 1' trailer not only hooks its audience with its precision but also ups the ante much higher for the film. Though the release date is not mentioned the Elred Kumar prouduced film is most likely to arrive in theaters worldwide on March 31st and the wait has become much more anxiety filled now.
