Recently, the incident of MP Kanimozhi asked to speak in Hindi in an airport had created a huge controversy, and now director Vetrimaaran has revealed a similar incident and humiliation he faced in an airport as he didn't know Hindi.
Vetrimaaran has said in a recent interview that the incident happened in 2011 when himself and Aadukalam team were returning to India after screening the movie in Montreal film festival, Canada and in Delhi airport, an immigration official spoke to him in Hindi and when Vetrimaaran said he didn't know Hindi, the officer questioned if he doesn't know the mother language of the country.
Vetrimaaran had responded that his mother speaks Tamil and that he speaks in English to communicate with others, and this angered the official who said Tamils and Kashmiris are breaking the country and despite producer Kathiresan and music director GV Prakash saying that Vetrimaaran is a national award winner and went for cultural exchange to Canada, the director was made to stand for 45 minutes.
