Veteran lyricist Vairamuthu explains Bharathiraja's health update to the media!

Veteran Bharathiraja fell ill a few days ago and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. Yesterday, we reported to you that he is being shifted to another private hospital in Chennai for further treatment. It was earlier said that he is getting treatment for dehydration and will be discharged soon.

The latest is that famous lyricist Vairamuthu visited the 'Iyakkunar Imayam' at the hospital on August 26. He addressed the Press and Media while leaving the hospital and gave an update on Bharathiraja's health. Vairamuthu said that director Bharathiraja is getting better day by day, and the doctors are providing extensive treatment.

The renowned poet and lyricist added, "There is some cold in his chest region and some water has also layered in his lungs. The medical team assured that it will be fixed soon." He asked fans to not believe the rumours and keep him in their prayers. Bharathiraja recognized Vairamuthu when he met him, and both shared a few words.

Bharathiraja is a revolutionary filmmaker who directed Tamil cinema on a new path with his debut film '16 Vayathinile' in 1977. He has delivered many cults and timeless classics over the decades and is currently enjoying his stint as an actor. The director recently won acclaim for his role in Dhanush's 'Thiruchitrambalam', a box-office blockbuster.
