Former senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha has revealed that, former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had thought of dismissing Narendra Modi from the post of Gujarat Chief minister, in 2002. Yashwant Sinha made this shocking revelation in a press conference held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
He said that after the 2002 communal riots in Gujarat, Vajpayee had wanted to emphasize on making Narendra Modi, the then Chief minister of Gujarat to resign. In the BJP national meeting held in Goa the same year, Vajpayee had also planned to dissolve the Gujarat government if Modi had refused to resign.
During the internal discussion held within BJP, the then internal affairs minister LK Advani, a senior BJP leader had opposed to the decision of dismissing Narendra Modi, and dissolving Gujarat government besides also threatening that he will resign from his post if Modi is dismissed, and that was what made Vajpayee take back his decision, revealed Yashwant Sinha.
