Ram Charan’s RC17: Who Will Be the Heroine? Sukumar Continues the Search

Expectations are increasing around Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s upcoming film with director Sukumar. Tentatively titled RC17, the project marks the reunion of the successful combination behind the blockbuster Rangasthalam. While the film has officially been launched, curiosity continues over one important question: Who will play the female lead opposite Ram Charan?

The makers have not yet announced the heroine’s name, and recent reports suggest that director Sukumar is still considering different actresses for the role.

Sara Arjun and Aneet Padda’s names in discussion

Several actresses have been linked to the project over the past few weeks. Bollywood actress Sara Arjun, who gained wider attention following Dhurandhar, was among the early names reported for the female lead.

Aneet Padda, who became popular with Saiyaara, was also reportedly considered for the role.

However, the latest report from TeluguCinema.com suggests that the casting process is still underway. Although several actresses have reportedly been shortlisted, Sukumar is said to be considering another actress who recently delivered a successful film.

The director reportedly wants to conduct a test before making the final decision.

Is a Telugu actress being considered?

Industry reports have also mentioned names such as Bhagyashree Borse and Satvika Veeravalli. Some reports suggested that auditions or look tests may have taken place, but none of these casting developments has been officially confirmed by the production house.

For now, the identity of Ram Charan’s female co-star remains a mystery. Fans are eagerly waiting for the makers to reveal the complete cast.

Ram Charan’s makeover for Sukumar’s film

Another interesting aspect of RC17 is Ram Charan’s reported makeover. According to sources, the actor is expected to sport long hair, a ponytail and a beard for his character. He is also reportedly preparing for a lean physique.

Sukumar is known for creating distinctive characters and detailed visual worlds. His earlier collaboration with Ram Charan in Rangasthalam received considerable appreciation for its performances, storytelling and rural setting.

This has naturally increased expectations surrounding their next film.

When will RC17 shooting begin?

The film was officially launched in Hyderabad on November 1, 2026, with Chiranjeevi attending the ceremony and giving the first clap.

Mythri Movie Makers is producing the project in association with Sukumar Writings. Anirudh Ravichander is associated with the film as music composer, while Ratnavelu is handling cinematography.

Regular shooting is reportedly planned to begin in December 2026, although the production schedule has not been fully announced.

Official heroine announcement awaited

Although several actresses have been linked to RC17, the makers have not officially revealed the female lead. The current reports indicate that Sukumar is taking time to find an actress who suits the character.

With Ram Charan and Sukumar reuniting after Rangasthalam, the film is already among the most anticipated upcoming Telugu projects. Fans will now be waiting for the announcement of the heroine, the official title and further details about the story.
