Vaisshnav Tej, Kriti Shetty team up with Sukumar again

The success of Uppena has made it’s lead actors Panja Vaisshnav Tej and Kriti Shetty a name to reckon with in Telugu cinema. Director Buchi Babu Sana has also got due recognition in the industry and he has already committed to direct Jr NTR in a period sports drama. The revenge drama also brought a much-need break for director Sukumar, who bankrolled the film under Sukumar Writings banner in association with Mythri Movie Makers.

The latest update is that the quartet is teaming up again for a new film, which is expected to go on floors later this year. However, the director and the genre of the film are yet to be finalised.

Meanwhile, Mythri Movie Makers are bankrolling Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa directed by Sukumar. Vaisshnav, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of Krish’s rustic drama and is also committed to work in director Gireesaaya’s upcoming film and an untitled film being bankrolled by Nagarjuna Akkineni. Kriti Shetty is being paired opposite Nani in Shyam Singha Roy and she also has a film with Sudheer Babu titled Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali.

Released on February 12 this year, Uppena has received stupendous response from critics and audience alike. The film has become an all-time highest-grossing film for a debutant actor in Telugu cinema, surpassing Ram Charan-starrer Chirutha.
