'Uppena' Trailer: Sets the tone for a 'honour'-based romantic actioner

In the trailer for 'Uppena', Vijay Sethupathi's character declares that honour and life are one and the same. Is this a hint at a honour crime that he is going to commit in the movie against his sister's lover? Debutant writer-director Buchi Babu Sana teases us to think on those lines.
Marking the debut of Panja Vaisshnav Tej, the film is a romantic-action drama set in the backdrop of a semi-urban area. The initial moments give a glimpse into the dreamy world of the male lead, who loves a girl (Krithi Shetty). Just as they promise each other eternal togetherness, they stare at damnation.
A major complaint is that Sethupathi's dubbing is contrived, as we are used to listening to his original voice.
A rumour is that the male lead's hand gets chopped off in the climax. With music by Devi Sri Prasad, the film has got the right tunes acting as one of the biggest attractions. Shamdat Sainuddin's visuals are neat.
Mythri Movie Makers has announced the release date to be February 12.
