Uppena to be shot across the country

The shoot of Uppena, which marks the acting debut of megastar Chiranjeevi’s nephew Vaisshnav Tej, got a shot in the arm with the joining of Tamil actor Vijay Sethupati earlier this week in Hyderabad. After having been shot in Uppada, Kakinada for a major part till now, the setting has shifted to specially erected sets at Sarathi Studios, Hyderabad and will go on for another 10 days mostly. Also on the shoot itinerary are some other parts of the country as well. As the script’s span is huge, first-time director Buchi Babu Sana is leaving no stone unturned to mount the film on a lavish scale and Mythri Movie Makers who are producing the film along with Sukumar Writings are more than happy to oblige.

Not necessarily in the right order, the unit—after completing the Hyderabad leg filming—will move to Gangtok, Sikkim for a nine-day outing, followed by short spells in Kolkata (two days) and Lakshadweep (four days).  The director who has already shot portions of Jagannath Ratha Yatra live in Puri for a day last month will be visiting the city of Orissa again for another four days with his team.

The film features Mangalore girl Krithi Shetty as Vaisshnav’s love interest, while Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer.
