Another mysterious death in Unnao rape case shocks people

Expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar was recently convicted by a Delhi court of kidnapping and raping a minor girl from Unnao two years ago, and is currently in the Tihar jail serving a life sentence.

In a recent development, the doctor who treated the rape victim’s father, who was brutally thrashed in police custody in April 2018, has died in a mysterious manner. The father of the victim, who was later discharged after first-aid, died in custody the same day. Following a CBI inquiry, the doctor, Prashant Upadhyaya (45), was suspended but had later been reinstated and posted in Fatehpur.

The doctor was rushed to a hospital after he complained of uneasiness but he was declared brought dead by the doctors. It is rather intriguing to note that the case related to the murder of the rape victim’s father is scheduled to come up in court on Tuesday. Upadhyaya’s body has been sent in for a post-mortem.
