Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the Union Education Minister, on Wednesday said that he has contracted coronavirus. He is currently on medication.
“This is to inform you all that I have tested COVID positive today. I am taking medication and treatment as per the advice of my doctors. Request all those who have come in my contact recently to be observant, and get themselves tested,” he tweeted out.
In a subsequent tweet, he condoled the demise of about 22 patients at a hospital in Nashik, Maharashtra, after a tanker containing medical oxygen got leaked, resulting in the stoppage of the supply of oxygen for 30 minutes. “The tragic incident of oxygen tank leakage at a hospital in #Nashik has left me speechless. My heart goes out to the people who have lost their loved ones,” the BJP leader tweeted.
