Mari Selvaraj is a talented director in the new wave of Tamil cinema. As we reported yesterday, the filmmaker officially announced his next movie this morning. Mari and his wife Divya will be presenting this upcoming project, produced by Disney Plus Hotstar, under the banner Navvi Studios.

Titled 'Vaazhai', director Mari Selvaraj's fourth film went on the floors today with a small event. Actor, producer and MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin inaugurated the shooting of Vaazhai. It is worth mentioning that Udhay played one of the leads in Mari Selvaraj's yet-to-be-released movie 'Maamannan'. The shooting started today with the cast and crew participating in the launch event.

The photos from the launch event landed on the internet and went viral. Vaazhai will be a children-based movie with kids playing the lead roles, as the first look poster suggests, with Kalaiyarasan, Nikhila Vimal, Dhivya Duraisamy and Priyanka ('Veyil' fame) in pivotal roles. The film has music by Santhosh Narayanan with cinematography by Theni Eashwar.

The technical team also includes Suriya Pradhaman as the editor, Dhilip Subbarayan as the action choreographer, Kumar Gangappan as the art director, Sandy as the choreographer, Yugabharathi and Veyil Muthu as the lyric writers, Shri Swarna as the costume designer and Suren G as the sound designer.
