Ever since the Indian Government made the enrollment of all the citizens under the Aadhaar Scheme and getting an Adhaar Card mandatory, there have been lot of speculations about the leak and misuse of personal details of individuals. However the Government has been assuring that the date collected for Aadhaar enrollment will be safe.
However one such attempt by none other than RS Sharma the Chairman of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India and a strong advocate of Aadhaar scheme, turned awkward and also proved detrimental to the purpose. On Saturday, Sharma had shared his 12 digit Aadhaar number in Twitter and challenged the critics to prove how the mere knowledge of someone's Aadhaar number will expose their personal details to hackers.
Within hours, a French hacker who operates in Twitter under the name Elliot Anderson, has revealed the mobile number, alternate mobile number, email id, model of the phone and also the WhatsApp profile pic of Mr.Sharma. This has again strengthened the assumption the details collected for Aadhaar are prone to misuse by hackers.
If this is not enough. French Hacker who claims himself to be a critic of schemes like Aadhaar has tweeted to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking the latter to provide his Aadhaar number.
