Tourist Family, a Tamil-language drama directed by debutant Abishan Jeevinth, has completed 15 days in theatres since its release on May 1. The film has earned over ?45 crore in Tamil Nadu, as reported by trade tracker AB George, and continues to perform well at the box office.

Starring M. Sasikumar and Simran, the movie centers around a Sri Lankan Tamil family fleeing economic hardship and seeking refuge in Chennai. As they try to build a new life while remaining unnoticed, a police investigation threatens to expose their past. The story explores themes of migration, survival, and identity.

The supporting cast includes Mithun Jai Sankar, Kamalesh, Yogi Babu, M.S. Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel, and Sreeja Ravi. The film is produced by Million Dollar Studios in collaboration with MRP Entertainment. Initially announced in September 2024 as “Production No. 5,” the official title Tourist Family was revealed in December.

The technical crew features Sean Roldan as the music composer, Aravind Viswanathan on cinematography, and Barath Vikraman as the film editor. Art direction is led by Raj Kamal, with producers Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan overseeing production.

As the film heads into its third weekend, it continues to attract audiences. Its narrative focused on displacement and cultural identity resonates strongly, helping it remain stable despite new theatrical releases.
