The new season of the Indian Premier League, the super famous T20 tournament in the cricketing world, is all set to begin today. This is the 16th edition of IPL in which the defending champions Gujarat Titans and the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings will be locking horns in the opening match.

IPL is coming back to India in the home and away format, after three years due to the COVID pandemic. As usual, the season will kickstart with a grand inaugural ceremony today (March 31) at 6:00 PM IST at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The list of celebrities who will perform in the opening ceremony is revealed now.

Popular south actresses Rashmika Mandanna and Tamannaah are going to be on the opening ceremony stage along with Bollywood stars Katrina Kaif, Tiger Shroff and singer Arjit Singh. The inaugural ceremony will be broadcasted on Star Sports network and the digital telecast will be on Jio Cinema.

Hardik Pandya will lead GT while Mahendra Singh Dhoni is set to captain CSK. For the first time ever, the organisers will be putting together a mid-inning drone show during the opening ceremony. The segment will feature a choreographed dance of 1,500 drones decorating the sky above the stadium.
