TikTok celebrity Chippada Bhargav, popularly known as Funbucket Bhargav, has been arrested by the Andhra police in Hyderabad for the alleged rape of a minor girl in Visakhapatnam.
Funbucket Bhargav shot to fame in a short span of time with his “Oh My God” videos. Several online platforms, including Twitter, Netflix, and Swiggy, picked up the line soon after. The family of the victim registered a complaint with the Pendurthi police station under the Visakhapatnam commissionerate on April 16 after they came to realize that the girl was four months pregnant. Following this, Bhargav was arrested by the Andhra police in Kompally, Hyderabad. The TikToker was also reportedly accused of blackmailing the 14-year-old after she rejected his advances. He had apparently threatened to leak her private videos if she refused to co-operate.
A case has been registered against Bhargav under the POCSO Act and section 376 (Punishment for sexual assault), 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman) of the Indian Penal Code. An official reportedly said that the accused was produced before the judicial magistrate and was sent to judicial custody till May 3.
