‘Thumbaa’, a fantasy-filled comedy adventure

‘Thumbaa’ is one project which is going to be a newsmaker of sorts.  A multi-lingual fantasy-filled comedy adventure film catering to kids as well as the family audience, it is directed by Harish Ram LH.  The movie’s theatrical release is planned for Summer.  

Its promo video (the Telugu version was released by Sai Dharam Tej) is out and those of you who have watched it must have got a taste of what the film is going to offer.  Director Harish Ram calls up Anirudh and seeks a score for the entry of a tiger. When the music director asks him to first shoot the scene and then show it to him for inspiration, the director parcels a CG-created tiger to Anirudh’s house.  Terrified upon seeing it in his room, the music director comes up with a suitable score to pamper the tiger.  Yes, the film is set in a jungle and will feature many such realistic CG animals.  

Starring Darshan, Dheena and Keerthi Pandian, the film’s story is set against the backdrop of the dense forests of the Western Ghats. Made in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi, this is a VFX-heavy visual feast that will definitely amaze the kids as well as adults out there.  

Talking about the content, producer Surekha Nyapati says, “The audience will be amazed to watch the animals come alive on screen. We are glad that the promo video, featuring music director Anirudh, has been received so well by the audience. The sight of Anirudh composing music for the movie alongside a CG-created tiger captures the film’s visual essence.  All the animals that you will see in the movie were created through CG rather meticulously.  They are true-to-life.  No wonder that the promo video has already created a huge buzz in the industry.”
