The Tamil-language musical family drama 'Thiruchitrambalam' will be released in Telugu as 'Thiru'. The trailer of the Dhanush-starrer was released today.

Written and directed by Mithran R Jawahar, the film has Dhanush in a boy-next-door role. The 'Gray Man' actor is seen in a laidback role that he has perfected in the past.

If Nithya Menen plays his childhood friend, Raashi Khanna is seen as his former classmate. Also starring Priya Bhavani Shankar in a less important role, 'Thiru' has veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja as the male lead's grandfather and Prakash Raj as his father. Also starring Munishkanth and Aranthangi Nisha, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Edited by Prasanna GK, its cinematography is handled by Om Prakash.

With art direction by Jacki and action choreography by Stunt Silva, the film has dance choreography handled by Satish Krishnan. Costume design is by Kavya Sriram.

The film will hit the screens in both Telugu and Tamil on Aug 18.
