Ram Gopal Varma was never destined to make ‘NTR’ biopic with Balakrishna. But what is his take on ‘Kathanayakudu’ and ‘Mahanayakudu’? “I have watched the movies. They are like anecdotes. NTR’s life was eventless before the arrival of Lakshmi Parvathi garu in his life. So, what is shown in the ‘NTR’ biopic movies is unexciting to me,” RGV says, suggesting that they failed for this reason.
He then says that the part of NTR’s life after the arrival of Lakshmi Parvathi is what is the most interesting. “I would have made the biopic with Balakrishna only if I had the freedom to tell this aspect of his life. What is shown in the ‘NTR’ biopic movies would have been just the first half of the first half of my film (had I directed it),” RGV says.
Now that ‘Kathanayakudu’ and ‘Mahanayakudu’ flopped, RGV is targeting the film. Would he have said these bombastic things had they become BO hits? A disaster is always a soft target.
