Director Atlee, without a doubt, is one of the most sought after directors in Tamil cinema, and his growth over the last seven years in the industry has been tremendous.

Following his highly successful debut, Raja Rani, starring Arya, Nayanthara, Nazriya, and Jai, Atlee has made three consecutive movies with Vijay - Theri, Mersal, and Bigil. While Theri and Mersal emerged as blockbusters at the box office, the upcoming Sports-Action film Bigil is expected to set new records. After Bigil's release, Atlee and Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan might be teaming up for a movie. A rumour suggests that Atlee has been paid Rs. 25 crores for Bigil, and has also apparently been offered Rs. 30 crore for his movie with SRK.

Produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram under the AGS Entertainment banner, Bigil also stars Nayanthara in the lead. The music has been composed by A.R. Rahman. The movie hits the screens across the world on October 25.
