After delivering the all time blockbuster hit 'Vikram' starring Kamal Haasan, VJS and Fahadh Faasil, director Lokesh Kanagaraj is busy with the preproduction of his next. Though nothing is official yet it is a given that he is going to direct Thalapathy Vijay for the second time after 'Master'.
So far it has been reported that 'Thalapathy 67' will have Vijay as an ageing gangster with Trisha playing his wife and Samantha and Keerthy Suresh in important female lead characters. It is also said that Vijay will face off with six villains namely Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sanjay Dutt, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Manzoor Ali Khan and others. Anirudh will be scoring the music and Lalit Kumar bankrolling under his banner Seven Screen Studios.
Now a rumour is floating around that 'Thalapathy 67' will be an official remake of David Cronenberg's cult classic gangster flick ' A History of Violence' released in the year 2005. In the film Viggo Mortenson played a former gangster leading a peaceful family life with wife and children who is lured back into the underworld due to a violent incident.
Lokesh Kanagaraj has made it clear in all his recent interviews that 'Thalapathy 67' will be a massive treat for both his and Thalapathy Vijay fans. Whether its a Hollywood remake or its a part of LCU or a fresh script will only be known when the man himself opens about it.
