Ajith’s ‘Vedalam’ collection rain undeterred by rain in Tamil Nadu

Thala Ajith’s grand Diwali attraction ‘Vedalam’ has made a record collection on the first day of its release. Reliable sources within the Kollywood trade circles reveal that the Siva directed mass entertainer has collected Rs.15.5 crores on the first day of its release in theaters across Tamil Nadu.

The collections on the second day, which was a working day has also been tremendous. The film has a had a gross theatrical collection of around Rs.8 crores on Wednesday. Which means, ‘Vedalam’ has collected around Rs.23 crores in the first two days of its release in Tamil Nadu state alone. This is the biggest opening for an Ajith film and also tops the list of all time opening collections made by Tamil films.

Today is also an official working day, but holiday has been announced for schools and colleges in many parts of the state due to rain. This may increase the fortunes of the film on its third day. As expected ‘Vedalam’ is running to packed houses even today. Tickets for all the shows have been booked in advance.

We can say ‘Vedalam’ is heading to turn out as the biggest money-spinners of the year.
