Vakkantham Vamsi-written 'Temper' gets a 'Singham' tweaking in Bollywood. Remade as 'Simmba' with Ranveer Singh stepping into NTR's shoes, the film's trailer is out.
The story has been retained essentially. Everything from the rom-com track (Sara Ali Khan playing Kajal Aggarwal's role in the original) to the rape sub-plot and the honest constable (Posani Krishna Murali's role is played by Siddharth Jadhav) is intact.
Explaining the presence of Ajay Devgn, the makers say, "Simmba is an orphan from Shivgadh from where our beloved Singham was born and raised. Contrary to the philosophies of Singham, Simmba believes that a Corrupt Officer’s life is an ideal life which inspires him to become one."
Presented by Reliance Entertainment, it has been directed by Rohit Shetty of 'Chennai Express' fame.
Produced by Hiroo Johar, Rohit Shetty, Apoorva Mehta and Karan Johar, the drama has Prakash Raj's role in the original played by Sonu Sood. BGM is by Thaman and Amar Mohile. The signature tune heard in 'NOTA' is very much there with a minor change here.
'Simmba' will hit the screens on December 28.
