Telangana, five other States receive Covid alert

The Centre is once again waking up to the Covid-19 threat. There has been an increase in the number of daily cases in the past few days.

As per an ANI report, the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry today wrote a letter to six States asking them to pull up their socks. Telangana is one of them.

The other States are: Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. They have been asked to ramp up testing, tracking, treating, and vaccinating.

As per Covid-19 data analyst Vijayanand, India’s covid cases trend continues to remain low with an average of 466 cases per day. “The increase is showing a small increase trend but there is no reason for concern as cases continue to remain low. As of now, H3N2 Influenza is on the surge,” he writes.

At this point, the public perception is that coronavirus is benign due to the positive impact of vaccines.
