T-CM Revanth Reddy’s delightful news to Govt Job Aspirants

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy made a significant announcement on Friday, revealing plans to conduct the Group I exam while also increasing the upper age limit from 44 to 46 years. This decision, announced during his address in the Assembly, comes as a relief to many job aspirants who have exceeded the previous age limit, especially considering the state’s failure to fill Group I posts over the past six years.

The announcement addresses a longstanding demand of aspirants, particularly after the Group I exam faced cancellation twice in 2022 and 2023 due to question paper leaks, causing upheaval within the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC). In 2022, the Telangana High Court urged the state government to consider raising the upper age limit even further, to 49 years, to widen the pool of eligible candidates for the Group I exam.

Revanth Reddy highlighted the delays in revamping the TSPSC, taking a subtle dig at his predecessor, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and his family members, while emphasizing the government’s commitment to transparency and integrity in recruitment processes. He mocked the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders, contrasting the current administration’s dedication to meritocracy with the alleged malpractices of the previous regime.

Furthermore, Revanth Reddy assured the Assembly of the government’s commitment to filling vacancies in critical sectors such as the Police department and universities. The recent sanction of 60 posts under Group I is a testament to this commitment, with plans to fill these positions alongside those previously notified by the TSPSC. Despite setbacks such as the cancellation of exams and procedural lapses, the government remains resolute in its efforts to address the issue of job vacancies and streamline the recruitment process.

Under the new leadership, the TSPSC has undergone restructuring, with the appointment of former Director General of Police M. Mahender Reddy as its Chairman, signaling a renewed focus on efficiency and transparency in fulfilling the promises made to the people of Telangana.
