Here is something that Hyderabadis can feel extremely happy about. A study conducted by the Bureau of Indian Standards, which functions under the Consumer Affairs Ministry, has found that the quality of tap water supplied in Hyderabad is the second-best in India. The first best is Mumbai tap water.
Samples of water were collected from India’s prominent cities and tested for their turbidity, odour, total hardness, chloride, fluoride, and five other parameters.
Alongside Hyderabad, Ranchi, too, is at No. 2. The cities are followed in ranking by Raipur, Amaravati, Shimla, Chandigarh, Thiruvananthapuram, Patna and Bhopal, Guwahati, Bengaluru, Gandhinagar, Lucknow, Jammu, Jaipur, Dehradun, Chennai, Kolkata, and Delhi.
