‘Sye Raa’ is hitting the screens on a gargantuan scale on October 2 (Wednesday). Special early morning shows have been planned across cities. In Hyderabad, 7 am shows are expected to take off on a huge note.
One of the talks of the town is what ‘Sye Raa’ is set to pull off in Chennai. On the opening day, something like 52 special shows will be held in the city in the morning. This is just for the Telugu version.
The role of the Tamil version’s producers, Super Good Films, is also clear. Meticulous planning and elaborate arrangements have been put in place to ensure the best possible release for the Chiranjeevi movie in Tamil Nadu.
The sheer scale of the number of shows in Chennai has taken Kollywood observers by a surprise. “It’s a wakeup call for them. Tollywood is right now ruling the roost in the bastion of the Tamil film industry. Even ‘Saaho’ was nothing compared to this,” a source says.
This is happening at a time when even top Tamil stars are finding it hard to retain their market in the Telugu States. “Kollywoodians need to wake up. They should produce the right content. Films like ‘Baahubali’, ‘Saaho’ and ‘Sye Raa’ say it all,” the source comments.
