Veteran actor S Ve Shekhar has stirred controversy by alleging that he was removed from the Netflix film ‘Test’ because of his support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking about the incident, Shekhar revealed that he was initially cast to play the role of actor Siddharth’s father in the film. “I was the first person approached for the role, and I was even paid an advance after confirming my availability,” he said.
However, just days before shooting was scheduled to begin, Shekhar claims the producer informed him of a sudden change. “They told me Siddharth refused to act with me because I support Modi, while he is vocally anti-Modi. They feared he might face backlash on social media if we appeared together on screen,” Shekhar alleged.
In response, the actor said he demanded ?50 lakh as compensation. But soon after, he received a message from the production team stating that his role had been written out due to story changes.
S Ve Shekhar’s comments have sparked debate online, with discussions emerging around politics in cinema and the freedom of personal beliefs in the entertainment industry.
