The suicide of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput is being investigated by the police for over 20 days now and in a new development, the CCTV footage of the actor's building has been taken into custody.
Sushant died by suicide on June 14 at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. "Police have taken in custody CCTV recordings of the building where Sushant Singh Rajput was staying. No CCTVs were installed at his house. Forensic report awaited: Abhishek Trimukhe DCP (Zone IX), Mumbai Police," a post by a news agency mentioned. The police officials stated that it is being investigated if there were any visitors to Sushant's place which are yet to be identified, and added that forensic reports in connection with the cloth the actor used to hang himself are awaited. Previous forensic reports mentioned 'asphyxia due to hanging' as the cause of Sushant's death. It was later determined that the actor had been diagnosed with clinical depression and he was going through a course of treatment for the same for several months before he decided to take the extreme step. In an official statement, Sushant's father K.K. Singh mentioned to the police that his son would often feel "low", but was unaware why he was depressed.
Sushant's last and upcoming romantic drama film, Dil Bechara, which is the remake of the Hollywood film, The Fault in our Stars, will have a digital release and will premiere on Disney + Hotstar on July 24. Sushant made his Bollywood debut with the film Kai Po Che and was last seen in the 2019 blockbuster Chhichhore. The actor received critical acclaim for his portrayal of former Indian skipper MS Dhoni in his biopic.
