Suriya, whose last release happens to be the 2018 Pongal release Thaanaa Serndha Koottam directed by Vignesh Shivn, had since then been shuttling between two of his most anticipated projects, the Selvaraghavan directorial NGK and the KV Anand directorial Kaappaan.
While the former was initially scheduled to release on Diwali 2018, Selvarghavan’s health issues lead to a delay in the shoot, which meant NGK got pushed, and Suriya joined the Kaappaan sets. However, Suriya had resumed shooting for NGK last month, and on Satuday, the director Selva and producer SR Prabhu took it to twitter to announce that the movie has been wrapped.
Reportedly, Suriya had gifted the 120 crew members of NGK with gold coins, for their work in the movie. NGK is a political thriller that has Suriya playing a character named Nandha Gopalan Kumaran, and costars Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh. NGK has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and is expected to release in April.
