Renowned Kollywood director Gautham Menon has established himself as a trendsetter in the industry, with almost every one of his movies becoming a cult classic. It has been 20 years since Gautham Menon made his debut film in Kollywood and Suriya has congratulated the director on the same, along with sharing some of their most memorable experiences working together.
Suriya, in a video message, said that he met Gautham in 1998 at a Bachelors’ party and eventually collaborated for their first movie, Kaakha Kaakha, in 2002, which emerged as a blockbuster. Their second project Vaaranam Aayiram, is arguably one of the best movies ever made in Kollywood, and Suriya has mentioned that along with Kaakha Kaakha, those are two of his most memorable films and that he couldn’t imagine what his filmography would have been like had it not been for the two films. Suriya further went on to add how music was an integral part of Gautham Menon’s life, and how it reflected on all of his movies. The actor also thanked music director Harris Jayaraj for composing two of his most cherished albums.
In response to Suriya’s video, Gautham Menon replied on his Facebook page, “Thank You. Some Of The Best Times Ever Was With You Brother. And Yes, I’m Going To Ask You To Pick Up That Guitar Very Soon … “
