Suriya has penned an emotional note commemorating the 20th anniversary of his milestone film that catupulted him as an action hero. The film is none other than the cult classic ‘Kakka Kakka’ which released on 1st August 2003, directed by Gautham Menon and costarring Jyothika.
Suriya played the iconic role of an IPS officer named Anbuchelvan in ‘Kaaka Kaaka’ while his then real life girlfriend and now wife Jyothika played a school teacher who falls for his charisma. Apart from the amazing romantic chemistry between Suriya and Jyothika the film had several highlights that include Jeevan’s riveting performance as the villain, timeless songs and background music of Harris Jayaraj, stunning visuals from RD Rajasekhar’s camaera and innovative cuts from Antony. Above all there was the masterful filmmaking of GVM in only his second film.
An emotional Suriya sharing BTS pics from the shooting wrote “A film that gave me my All! Anbuchelvan will always be close to my heart. Wishes to all the “ilamkandrus” of #KaakhaKaakha the technicians, #Jo who first spoke to me about the film & my co-actors, & @menongautham thank you… So many good memories…!
