Even as superstar Rajinikanth is awaiting the release of Darbar, directed by A.R.Murugadoss and is simultaneously involved in the shoot of his upcoming project 'Thalaivar 168', directed by Siva, a few reports suggest that Dhanush might be co-producing 'Thalaivar 169.'

Initial reports regarding Rajini's 'Thalaivar 169' mentioned that Vels Film International will be producing the film. However, it is now being reported that Dhanush and Kalaipulai S Thanu might be co-producing the film, under their respective banners, Wunderbar Films and V Creations. An official confirmation regarding the same is awaited as this is merely a speculation. Thalaivar 169 is expected to go on floors in April 2020 and several directors, including Vetrimaaran, have reportedly narrated their scripts to the veteran actor.

Meanwhile, the shooting of 'Thalaivar 168' is currently in progress in Hyderabad. Produced by Sun Pictures, Thalaivar 168 will have music scored by D. Imman, who will be collaborating with Rajinikanth for the first time ever. Keerthy Suresh, Khushbu, and Meena will be playing the female leads in the movie.
