After a long time people had the pleasure of listening to Superstar Rajinikanth`s speech in the 90th birthday celebration of veteran film producer and politician R.M.Veerappan.

It is to be noted that RMV is the owner of the Sathya Movies banner which has bankrolled many Rajini films including the blockbuster Baasha` which is considered as the star`s best by many of his fans and critics. RMV is also a person who is regarded in high respect by our beloved Superstar.

The Superstar started his speech on a nostalgic note. "I took part in the 125th day celebration of Baasha` produced by R.M.Veerappan. I spoke about the bomb blast culture getting stronghold in the state on that dais. The same night RMV sir lost his ministerial berth. I felt so bad after learning about it and telephoned him with fear. But he asked me not to feel bad for such things as they were the order of that day."

Stressing the importance of staying healthy with a personal example, the sexagenarian actor said "RMV sir has never went to a hospital for treatment. I know the pain of getting treated in a hospital. I request all of you to maintain a healthy life that does not require you to visit hospitals. Those who are above 50 please do exercises daily. "

Finally much to the delight of everyone, Rajini said something that would prove that he considers Baasha` is very close to his heart, like crores of his fans. "People ask whether Kabali` will supersede Baasha`. There is only one Baasha`. No other film can surpass that." Rajini said amidst thunderous applause and whistles.

Rajinikanth is expected to start shooting for his upcoming film Kabali` from next week.
