The past few weeks were abuzz with news of the Superstar Rajinikanth`s next film with different sections of the media claiming that Shankar, A.R.Murugadass, Sundar C and Raghava Lawrence have narrated stories and the legend is going to zero in on one of their scripts.

Now very reliable sources inform us that Rajini was very much impressed with a story narrated by new wave director Ranjith whose work was promising in Attakathi` and dazzling in Karthi`s Madras`. Production of the film has been entrusted to Kalaipuli Thanu, who goes back a long way with Rajini, for it was he who gave the Superstar tag on the matinee idol for the first time while distributing the film Bhairavi`. The shooting for the film will commence in June and January 16th is locked as the release date. This Rajini-Ranjith combo is surely something to cheer for.
