Sukumar praises the Puri inspiration behind ‘Pushpa’

Sukumar has interviewed Puri Jagannadh ahead of the theatrical release of ‘Liger’ in multiple languages. In the interview, whose promo was released earlier today, we see the ‘Rangasthalam’ maker lauding the vision and style of the ‘iSmart Shankar’ maker. 

At one stage, we see the ‘Arya’ director saying that Puri’s characterizations are the inspiration behind Pushpa Raj in ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. Sukumar is also seen talking about Puri’s indelible imprint on the stylish images of Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu and Prabhas.

Two star directors, both of whom have the potential of being seen as the biggest pan-India filmmakers after SS Rajamouli, coming together is interesting. 

‘Liger’, meanwhile, is hitting the screens on Aug 25. The advance bookings are highly encouraging, with Nizam’s pre-sales suggesting that it is going to take the best-ever openings in the career of Vijay Deverakonda. 

As for Sukumar, his ‘Pushpa 2’ will go on the floors next month. Allu Arjun is gearing up for the same. Sukumar Writings has collaborated with Mythri Movie Makers for the project.
