Sudha Kongara’s next film gets a release date! Suriya and Akshay Kumar unveil the official poster

Director Sudha Kongara helmed the National Award-winning film “Soorarai Pottru” in 2020 starring an impressive cast including Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal, Karunas, Vivek Prasanna, and Urvashi. Following the success of this critically acclaimed movie, Sudha Kongara and 2D Productions reunited in 2021 to create its Hindi remake. This project marks 2D Productions’ debut venture into Bollywood.

Produced by Suriya and Jyothika, Sudha Kongara’s Hindi remake of “Soorarai Pottru,” titled “Sarfira,” features Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan in the lead roles. Filming commenced in April 2022 and wrapped up recently. Initially slated for a July release, the team has now unveiled a new poster announcing that “Sarfira” will hit cinemas on 12th July. This highly anticipated film is generating significant buzz among fans and critics alike.

It’s worth noting that Suriya makes a cameo appearance in “Sarfira,” with Akshay Kumar taking on the role originally portrayed by Suriya in “Soorarai Pottru.” The film centres around a man determined to create affordable airlines for low-income individuals, facing numerous obstacles along the way. The musical score is composed by GV Prakash, with cinematography by Niketh Bommi and art direction by Ramesh Yadav.
