Radha Bharadwaj, a filmmaker, has approached the Bombay High Court against Akshay Kumar's 'Mission Mangal', which is going to be shot soon. Radha's claim pertains to copyright infringement.
As per the petitioner, 'Mission Mangal' apes her original screenplay titled 'Space MOMs'. "I had given this script to producer Atul Kasbekar in 2016. Kasbekar's company signed a non-disclosure agreement that prohibited his production house from disclosing my project to anyone without my prior written consent," Radha says. But after the producer showed the script to Vidya Balan, Radha admittedly got angry and cancelled the agreement.
Based on the 2014 Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), the film is being jointly produced by Fox Star Studios and Cape of Good Films. Directed by Jagan Shakti, it also has Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen and others in its cast.
In recent times, Tamil movie 'Sarkar' was also embroiled in a copyrights issue.
