Black actor gets Emmy after 19 long years

It is a known fact that African-American artists have always been underrepresented in Hollywood be it the Oscars or the Emmy awards. The last time a black actor was awarded an Emmy was for Andre Braugher in 1998.
Sterling Brown who broke the 19 year long hiatus by winning the Emmy for the best actor- drama. The actor plays the character of Randall Pearson, an adopted black son in an otherwise white family in the drama 'This is Us'.
Emmy awards is an American award given to artists and technicians recognising their exceptional work in television dramas and series.
The 41 year old Brown is the fourth black actor to ever win in the category after big names like Bill Cosby and James Earl Jones.
